What is it?
You might be familiar with neurotoxin brand names such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau. Essentially, a light “sprinkle” of a neuromodulator – most commonly called Botox – is injected in the face and neck to help improve the appearance of skin by relaxing the muscle to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, and to smooth the appearance of the skin. A TOX-IT treatment can also be used on other areas of the neck and body to improve overall well-being and self-esteem.

What can be expected during treatment?
Treatment typically takes 15-30 minutes and consists of multiple injections with a small needle. Discomfort and pain during treatment are minimal. Some describe the injections as feeling like a small pinch. A slight headache and mild tingling and itching can occur. Flu-like symptoms can also occur but are more uncommon. These symptoms typically resolve very quickly. Tylenol can be used as needed for pain. Minor bruising is possible.
What are pre-care instructions before a treatment?
We highly recommend eating a light, healthy meal and avoiding exercise the day of your procedure.
What is the downtime after a treatment?
At Skin Deep Cosmetics & Aesthetics, we define downtime as being unable to work or go out in public. Downtime after a neuromodulator treatment will be unique to every patient. Typically, neuromodulator treatment has no downtime and patients are able to return to normal every day activities. Redness, light swelling, and some bruising can occur. Redness and swelling will typically resolve within an hour. Bruising is usually minimal and will resolve in 1-2 weeks. Arnica can be taken by mouth to help bruising resolve more quickly.
What are the aftercare instructions after a botox treatment?
When can I expect to notice the results of my Tox-It treatment?
The initial effects from the neuromodulator procedure can be seen 3-10 days after treatment. Peak results occur at 14 days and continue to improve for four weeks or more. It is not uncommon to feel a slight heaviness around the forehead and brows for 2-3 weeks after treatment.
